It’s that time of year here in New England where the ground is still covered in snow, but a select group of us are dreaming of dirt. My seeds have arrived and I cannot wait to get out in the garden! For my fellow home gardeners, let’s talk about helping those dealing with food scarcity by electing to “Grow A Row”. Community gardens are a wonderful thing, but they take a lot of time, people and organization. If that sounds a bit overwhelming, instead consider adding one extra row to your current garden and donating that produce to your local soup kitchen or pantry. (I recommend reaching out to them first to see what would be most helpful to them.) It’s a great way to help with just an extra bit of weeding and watering. And making a difference with your gardening efforts is just one more reason to be excited about the arrival of Spring!
